Getting the yard ready...
We think that this was our last year setting up the yard for a variety of reasons:
a.) We're not home, so the yard decor entices people to our door and we're not even there.
b.) It's a lot of work to pull all the stuff down from the rafters considering Daniel has no ladder; to do so for the love of Christmas is one thing, but Halloween? I think we're over it.
C.) And last, but perhaps the most poignant, it was somewhat morbid to watch our angelic little baby run through tombstones giggling, even though they are quite campy and very thematic. But like I said, slightly disturbing.
Pumpkin carving in short sleeves and shorts! Now what's up with that kind of weather in late October?!
Olivia definitely wasn't too thrilled with the "guts," as they made her most precious, dainty little hands goopy!
At work, teachers got to dress up as a "literary character." Emily was "Pippi Longstocking," and got a little crafty with a needle and some thread! The wig took the cake; O even enjoyed modeling it!
Halloween night: We had crafts, food, and shared in lots of smiles with all of our close family when the big night finally arrived! Olivia was classic...she was so bound and determined to get the candy once she got the hang of it! We all had a blast in our neighborhood, which we must say, puts on a pretty spooktacular show!
Pre-trick or treating photo opp.: Olivia and three of her cousins, Hailey, Taylor, and Brody
So Olivia was going to be a traditional, Halloween cat, but as the costume making evolved (as Emily took matters into her own hands this year since we're very particular people when it comes to things like, uh, Halloween costumes), we decided the cat looked a little more, well, skunkish! So we went with it...anything she puts on is automatically adorable!
Brody, a.k.a. Chewbacca, Olivia, a.k.a. the sweetest smelling skunk ever, and Taylor, a little puppy
The "wheels" for the main event. We don't mess around when it comes to mixing holiday style and cozy comfort for our babies!
