O + the potty = a "Pumpkin!"

Two months after turning two, we turned Miss Olivia towards something else... the potty!  Having never potty-trained a child, we tried (and are still trying!) different incentives to get her to be a "big girl" and use the toilet!  Our first "reward" came after Olivia filled up her very first sticker chart (which is now in her baby book) for all the times she went pee pee in the toilet.  Before we began the toilet journey, we asked O what she wanted when the chart was finally full; she replied with great enthusiasm, "A fish!"  So... Emily drew a little orange fish in the last box of her chart, and away we went!  Finally, on June 13, we found ourselves off to the Petco fish department after she completed her chart, earning 30 stickers!

She was SO excited!

Checking out potential the winner to go home with the Elgan family!

Of course we needed a tank... a very cool one with "Ariel" was her pick!

Waiting for the fish lady to come scoop up a goldfish of Olivia's choice!

And there he (or she?) be!

Carefully holding her new finned friend in the car!

We asked her what she wanted to name her fish... and she told us, "Pee Pee!"  Well, we went with it for a few days, but decided "Pumpkin" sounded a little more appropriate in conversation!

She is now responsible for feeding "Pumpkin" every day!

Lunching on nachos with Daddy and a goldfish!

Awesome job, Olivia!  KEEP IT UP!
(We're now working on going #2 in the potty for a new Barbie!)
