THE BIG DAY!
Departure from LAX: 9:00 a.m. (Cali. time)
Arrival in Kahului: 11:15 a.m. (Island time!)
We left the house around 4:45 a.m. in hopes of getting to LAX with plenty of time to spare... later that day, aboard the plane, Emily donned the effects of a 3:30 alarm... "sleepy eyes!"
Olivia flew like a champ! Here she is with Ama, reading a magazine.
Once we landed, we were STARVING. We learned a highly valuable lesson: never get on a plane without eating a meal! I think all the excitement and rushing (along with nerves and anticipation of how the flight would go) capsized our hunger pangs. Therefore, after leaving the airport, McDonald's was our first stop! Here's O, boothside, adjusting to this new place (and time), and awaiting some "chicky nugs" and fries!

After a brief stop at Wal-Mart for some supplies for the week, we made it to Lahaina Shores... where the ocean beckoned for us to come and dip our feet into its pristine, Pacific waters!
What a special moment for O and Ama!
Everything caught her eyes... as there were so many new sights to take in!
Later that evening, we walked Lahaina town (LOVE IT THERE!)... and ate an early dinner (toasting with Mai Tais, of course!) at Cheeseburger in Paradise.
Her first of many plumerias, given to her by Daddy...
Exhausted after our long day, we were all in bed (and asleep) by 7:15 p.m.!
