Fourth of July, 2009

On the morning of the most patriotic of holidays, we were, once again, sitting on the sidelines of our town's annual parade.  This year, we were joined by the company of Uncle Greg, Aunt Danielle, and cousin Brianna!

Keeping cool under the umbrellas was a must!

Olivia, moving and grooving to songs celebrating the good ol' U.S.A.!

After the parade ended, we headed home for a nap... for we knew we had a fun evening in store!  This year, Uncle Jimmy and Aunt Diana hosted their "First Annual Elgan Fourth of July Picnic/Potluck!"  They rented a very cool water slide for the kids (and, um, adults!), had tons of great food to share, and were super hosts to a bunch of people ready to celebrate the Fourth!

Olivia, all smiles in her Fourth of July suit!

The kids were kind enough to share the water slide with all of us moms and dads!  However, with the exception of an occasional grown-up plunging down, the kids had a blast all afternoon in the little pool portion while we took turns life guarding the area!

A snapshot of the Elgan kids: friend, cousin Brianna, cousin Taylor, cousin Hailey, Olivia, and cousin Hunter!  We may be a little partial, but we have yet to meet anyone cuter than this bunch!

Once the skies darkened, it was time to play with some Fourth of July fanfare we picked up!  This picture gives me a bit of a heart-attack!

As does this one!  Like father, like daughter I suppose!

The night ended with a spectacular view of the local fireworks show from Jimmy and Diana's backyard... and a ride home that one little lady of liberty quickly fell asleep on!

We look forward to next year's "Second Annual," J./D. Elgan crew!  Thanks again!
