The day after...

With a kiss goodbye to Emily, Daniel ventured out into the cold, quiet, still kind of darkish Wednesday morning to...big surprise...TARGET! Every year prior to '07, Daniel and Emily bounced out of bed on the 26th, dressed in comfy clothes laid out the night before, and set out together to be victorious in acquiring the last of Christmas things leftover on the Target shelves that were now 50% off. They had always been highly successful in their day after Christmas shopping endeavors, and got a thrill out of getting great deals on things that were the last of their kind (wreaths, trees, miscellaneous decor, C9 LIGHTS). But this year, with Emily not about to wake O up to go out shopping at the crack of dawn, Daniel was the Lone Ranger, the Batman while Robin was still sleeping back at the nest (until 9:00!), the last Elgan standing on the Alamo we'll call, for the sake of this post, Target. Danielle (our sister in law) was going to go do the "open, open, open" thing at Target as well, so Daniel met up with her in the empty parking lot, and at 7:00 a.m., they dashed into the brightly lit, glimmering store, rushed past the employees telling everyone to walk, and staked our their claims ("We were the third ones in there!"). After spending a tad bit more than expected (as usual), Daniel came home and spent his afternoon dreaming of lights, lawn decor, towels, wrapping paper, scissors ("That were only 99 cents!"), and cute wintery clothes for Olivia. Emily just couldn't resist capturing such a sweet moment between Daddy and O while they both were at peace having sweet dreams!

Wednesday morning also consisted of some pre-afternoon nap playtime! Too funny our child is wearing a Halloween tee as a "jammie" top the day after Christmas...how typical! LOL!

I'm actually not too surprised about the Halloween "t". Isn't Halloween important too?! Something to be charished all year long!

Looks like you all had a great time.

Yes, the holidays were good with little Miss O. Olivia just loves her new little "car"...she is SO serious while riding it through the house (aka mommy/daddy pushing her around). One can only hope that she drives her real car at the age of 16 (OR 30) as seriously...I guess it all depends on who teaches her to drive...

Hey guys!

I just got your cute Christmas card today. I can't believe it's been 8 months already. Olivia is adorable, she definitely has Daniel's eyes.

It looks like your family had a great Christmas. Happy new year!!

Hi Hau and Melissa (and of course, Juicy Juicy)! So good to hear from you (from waaaaaaaay over there)! Yes, little Miss O is definitely a mini-Daniel in her dashing good looks, but a mini-Emily in her rambunctious, loud (often times screechy but in a good way - says me!) personality! She is such a fun girl...and with a one year par-tay just around the corner, we can't believe how much she has grown up already! Hope all is well...we'll be checking in with you often now!
